We will help you to understand what your rights are under the law and how the NDIS works. We will talk about eligibility, access requests, planning meetings and the various ways that you can manage NDIS Plans. We will also touch on the important factors that determine funding levels, functional assessments and the all-important concept of ‘Reasonable and Necessary’.

This is an in-depth workshop for participants and carers who want to get to know the National Disability Insurance Scheme really well. At the very basis of an advanced understanding of NDIS is the concept of reasonable and necessary, domains, support categories and possibilities for the use of funding. We’ll look at where to go to get the important information like the legislation, rules and operational guidelines. We’ll talk about the importance of documentation, evidence and reports at planning meeting and review times. We’ll also address Assistive Technology assessments and applications.

This is a support group for participants and carers who are self-managing an NDIS Plan or thinking about taking the self-management option in the future. Self-management can be the best way to maximise your supports, keep choice and control over your plan and get the most bang for the NDIS buck! Every support group meeting will be different depending on what attendees would like to discuss. As you arrive for the support group you are able to register your interest in a certain topic and this will drive the group discussion. Topics for discussion could include: What it means to self-manage, How to budget effectively, How to use the Price Guide, Service Providers and Service Agreements, Assistive Technology assessments and applications, MyPlace Participant Portal and direct employment of support workers and other staff.
